I am Jonathan Arends, a Lead UX & Product Designer born and raised in Aruba and currently based in The Hague. With over 14 years of design experience, I bridge the gap between human psychology and complex systems.

I specialize in Service Design, Enterprise Modernization, and large-scale, accessibility-first digital services for government, financial regulation, and critical national infrastructure. I thrive on turning messy, high-stakes challenges into elegant, sustainable systems that scale.

When I'm not untangling enterprise systems, I'm documenting the world through photography and writing. I explore design, philosophy, and the nature of consciousness—topics that help me stay sharp and grounded. I believe that professional expertise is nothing without a healthy dose of personal curiosity.
